What to do outdoors in Haworth

Haworth - Golf

Haworth is one of the most scenic places to visit – especially in the summer, where many head to their local golf course for a round whilst taking in and enjoying the stunning views of the countryside

Branshaw golf club

Branshaw golf club

Branshaw Golf Club, West Yorkshire is an 18 hole, par 69 (5888 yard), private, moorland golf course designed by Dr. Alister Mackenzie and James Braid in 1912.

Just five minutes drive away from Haworth, in the heart of Bronte country, Branshaw provides breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding hills and moorland.

The Branshaw Golf Club is set out over moorland and is comparatively easy walking, offering superb views over the surrounding countryside. Although not over-difficult the course demands great accuracy from the tee, and the ability to play a variety of approach shots to greens that are invariably in excellent condition all year round.

Keighley Golf Club, West Yorkshire is an 18 hole, par 69 (6141 yard), private, parkland golf course established in 1904.

Well-defined fairways and superb greens are complemented by mature and recently planted trees that provide definition for every hole. A round at Keighley Golf Club offers a challenge for the most accomplished golfer but one that the club golfer can also face without being overpowered.

.Dating back to 1931, today’s course layout offers an 18-hole, par 71, championship standard test which ranks among the best in Yorkshire and can boast the input of Dr. Alister MacKenzie, one of the recognized greats of golf course design in its early layout development. Many of his trademark influences can still be seen as integral elements of the course today
