HOLIDAY CYCLING / CYCLING VISIT

Cycling in Bradford  is a great way to see the area with cycle routes through the Saltaire UNESCO World Heritage Site and on off-road cycling opportunities in Ilkley with links to the Dales..

The focal point for cycling in Bradford is the cycling hub in the City centre. 'Capital of Cycling' is a coalition of cycling organisations, community groups and charities..The cycling hub is opposite City Hall, next to The Bradford Hotel. On offer is free learn to ride training for adults, drop in ‘fix n learn’ maintennance workshops, balance training for kids, and special sessions for vulnerable groups, disabled riders, ayslum seekers and regfugee.

The Great Northern Trail

The Great Northern Railway Trail is a cycleway and footpath in the Bradford District of West Yorkshire, England. The path follows the route of a former railway, that of the Great Northern railway line between Bradford and Keighley that went via Queensbury and Cullingworth.

The Aire Valley Towpath

 

The Aire Valley Towpath is a canal towpath, from Leeds to Bingley with a distance of 17 miles. You can access it through the Leeds, Shipley and Bingley train stations as well as the National Cycle Network routes 66 and 69

Airedale Greenway

The Airedale Greenway is a combined walking and cycling route connecting Keighley, Bingley, Saltaire and Shipley with Route 696 of the National Cycle network, which follows the Leeds and Liverpool Canal

Bradford Leeds Cycle Superhighway

 From Church Bank, Bradford, near the Broadway shopping centre you can cycle all the way to Wellington Street in the center of Leeds on a purpose built cycle lane segregated from traffic.

Bradford Canal Road Cycleway

Runs between Shipley and Bradford, the  2.3km route runs along Hillam Road, Bolton Lane and Valley Road, ending at Lower Kirkgate, near Bradford Forster Square. To the north the cycleway links to the existing Canal Road Greenway, which is also part of Sustrans’s National Cycle Network (66), and continues on to Shipley
